Please review the following dress code. Changes to the dress code are subject to board approval in August. Please pay extra attention to 5-7, in regards to the length of shorts and garments worn over leggings, jeggings, etc.
Dress Code
Students should use such taste in the selection and wearing
of their clothes, make-up, and hair styles and maintain such neatness,
cleanliness, and self-respect that the school is a desirable place in which to
promote learning and character development.
No apparel, dress, or grooming that is, or may be, potentially
disruptive of the classroom atmosphere or educational process will be
permitted. Parents will be called to
bring his/her child more clothes to school if this occurs.
- No Halter tops, tops with spaghetti straps or tops revealing undergarments or excess skin. (example: Shirts with underarm side seams cut out)
- No attire with obscene language or pictures (over exposure), alcoholic,
Tobacco or
illegal advertisements (examples listed but not limited to)
- No fishnet t-shirts. * No sheer or open back.
- No sundresses. (unless a jacket is worn over the dress at all times)
- Shorts
or skorts must be no shorter than half the length from the inseam to the
knee.
- If
yoga pants, leggings, jeggings, tight jeans or tight workout pants are
worn, the top garment must be at or
below the finger tips. Holes in
pants should not be any higher than half the inseam to the knee.
- Skirts and dresses worn must be no shorter than 3-4 inches above the knee.
- Appropriate shoes should be worn when playing on the gym floor at all times. *
- Top garment shall meet the bottom garment. No visible cleavage showing.
- All students must wear shoes, and shoes with cleats or rollers are inappropriate.
- Any clothing that is disruptive (gang related, etc.) to the regular learning
environment will
not be permitted.
- 12. No caps, hats, do-rags, toboggans, hoods, disruptive head gear and bandanas are allowed to be worn in the building.
- No body piercing except in the ears. *NO spacers will be permitted.
- Pants must fit appropriately around the waist.(The No Sag Law is now state law)*
- No mouth grilles and non-prescription contacts.
- No sleepwear/pajamas/loungewear or sleep pants unless designated pajama day.
- No dog chains/collar accessory around the neck or spiked jewelry/accessory including all types of material including plastic, metal, etc.
*It is recommended that students bring an extra pair of
shoes for P.E. An old pair of clean
tennis shoes or an inexpensive pair of canvas shoes would be fine. Flip-flops, sandals, heels, open toed shoes
and boots will not be allowed.
Students with special needs may ask for permission to
deviate from the school dress policy.
