April Newsletter

APRIL NEWSLETTER PICKETT COUNTY K-8
Dear Families,
Spring is hopefully here and the TCAP test is almost here as well. The TCAP testing dates have changed for us as a result of missing so much school for snow. The new testing window is the week of April 19th through 23rd. This means we need to change the Jr. Pro basketball schedule. The games scheduled for April 19th, 20th, and the make-up night of April 22nd will now be scheduled for April 5th, 6th, and 8th.
There will be no parties before the TCAP test. We feel that we need to use all available instruction time in preparing for the TCAP. We will have a celebration day after TCAP testing is completed provided students work well during TCAP preparation and exhibit a good attitude during testing.
Parent/teacher conferences are Thursday, April 1st from 3-6 p.m. If you are unable to attend please call and we will set up a time for you to meet with your child’s/children’s teacher during the teacher’s planning.
Important dates:
April 1st—Parent/Teacher Conferences—3-6 p.m.
April 5th—Jr. Pro Game rescheduled from the 19th.
April 6th—Jr. Pro Game rescheduled from the 20th.
April 8th—Jr. Pro Game rescheduled from the 22nd.
April 14th-16th—Spring Break
April 19th-23rd—TCAP TEST WEEK
April 19th—Begin taking Pre-K applications for next year.
