MAY NEWSLETTER

Dear Families,

    May is already here!  This school year has seemed to literally fly by.  This month is full of activities, field trips, registrations, and graduations.
     We have a few of the Pickett County K8 t-shirts still available in the office if you failed to order one for your child/children. 
     We are expecting this year’s annual to arrive any day.  The cost of this year’s annual will be $30.00.
     Kindergarten and 8th grade caps and gowns will go on sale Friday, May 1st in the office.  Caps and gowns are $25.00.
     Noel Cherry with FCA will be here on Wednesday, May 6th at 10:30 a.m. with an assembly program in the gym for grades 6, 7, and 8.  We will be sending home permission forms on Monday, May 4th for this assembly.  Please return those to school by Wednesday morning if you will allow your child/children to attend.
     We will be attending a Black and Gold baseball game on Wednesday, May 6th at 1:00 p.m.  Concessions will be sold.
     Fifth grade Soil Conservation Day will be Thursday, May 5th.
     Kindergarten graduation will be Thursday, May 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the Pickett County K8 gym.
     Pre-K and kindergarten pre-registration will be Monday, May 18th, Tuesday, May 19th, and Wednesday, May 20th.
     The University of Tennessee Extension Office is sponsoring a “color walk” for 8th grade students on Wednesday afternoon, May 20th.  Please be looking for a permission form in the near future.  The permission forms will have to be turned into the office before your child can participate.
     Eighth grade graduation will be Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Pickett County K8 gym.
     Friday, May 22nd will be an administrative day with no students.  Students will pick up report cards on Saturday, May 23rd beginning at 7:00 a.m.  Buses will run and school will dismiss at 9:00 a.m.
     All field trips are listed in the “important dates to remember” section on the back.
