PICKETT CO. K-8 OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
Dear Families,
The Cookbook Fundraiser went great! Thank you to all who worked hard to sell them. we have had over $14,000.00 in sales. I am presently awaiting the arrival of the prizes for our top sellers. We will announce winners in each cookbook category as soon as all prizes arrive. For those of you who failed to order cookbooks, we have ordered extra and they will be available to purchase. We are looking at mid November for delivery of the cookbooks.
The 5th grade students are selling t-shirts for their fundraiser again this year. Please see a 5th grade student or teacher if you would like to purchase one.
Safety Day will be held on Thursday. Oct. 10th. The kindergarten class will be riding the fire truck on this day as well. Report cards will go home on Friday, Oct. 11th. Parent/teacher conferences will be held on Tues., Oct. 22 from 3 until 6 p.m.
The 8th grade will be taking the Explore test on Wed., Oct. 9th. Third through 8th grade will be taking the math Constructed Response test on Thurs., Oct. 24th. This is a state mandated test. Please make sure your child/children are rested and at school on time.
The Pickett Co. K-8 students are invited to a Black and Gold game at the high school on Friday, Oct. 25th. Students will be going over at 12:45 p.m. Concessions will be sold.
Do not forget the Halloween Parade will be on Thurs., Oct. 31st. It will begin at 8:30 a.m. Ms. Cindy Sells will be having a fundraiser on Halloween day as well. Students will be allowed to buy a piece of duct tape to tape me to the wall. The cost of the tape will be $2.00 for a piece of tape. I just can't wait!!!
