Dear Families

This month is filled with many important dates and activities. Safety Day will be on Thursday, October 11th. We are at the end of the 1st nine weeks of school, which means report cards will be going home on Friday, October 12th. Fall Break is always an anticipated event. This year's break is scheduled for the week of October the 15th through the 19th. Parent/Teacher Conference will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd from 3pm until 6pm.

Students will be taking the first state mandated math test associated with our new Common Core State Standards on Tuesday, October 23rd. Eighth grade students will be taking the Explore test on Thursday, October 25th in the morning. The Explore is an indicator test for the ACT test, which is taken in the 11th grade. Red Ribbon Week activities will be held on Thursday, October 25th in the afternoon.

The book fair will be held at a different time than in the past. The book fair will begin on Friday, October 26th and run through Friday, November 2nd. During the week of October 29th through November 2nd the K-8 will be celebrating School Lunch Week. We would like to invite families to with with their students on the following days: Wednesday, October 31st - PreK through 1st grade, Thursday, November 1st - 2nd through 4th grade, and Friday, November 2nd - 5th through 8th grade. The cost will be $3.00 for an adult meal. Please be looking for more information to be sent home prior to the week of celebration. We must not forget about our Halloween Parade, it will be on Wednesday, October 31st and will start at approximately 8:30am.
