Pickett County K8 November Newsletter

Dear Families,

    Thanks to everyone who participated in our Halloween Parade this year, it was as good as ever.  The K8 will be attending a Black and Gold basketball game on Friday, November 7th at 12:30 p.m. Concessions will be sold.

   Kindergarten will begin their doughnut sales on Monday, November 10th, and will sell until Tuesday, November 18th, with delivery on Friday, November 21st.

   There will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, November 11th, because of Veteran's Day.

   Thanksgiving lunch will be served on Thursday, November 13th. Parents of grades Pre-K through 4th will be invited to attend. We will be sending home a letter to get a lunch count for visitors in the near future.

   Jr. High Basketball Homecoming will be Thursday, November 20th. We play against Cornerstone with the game beginning at 6:00 p.m.

   Progress Reports will go home on Friday, November 21st.

   Thanksgiving Break will be November 26th, 27th, and 28th.

   Reminder: Health Screenings are coming up and we need those forms filled out and returned to school. The forms are located in the student handbook.

   November is American Diabetes Month. Here are just a few of the recent statistics on diabetes: Nearly 30 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes, another 86 million Americans have pre-diabetes and are at risk for developing Type2 diabetes, the American Diabetes Association estimates that the total national cost of diagnosed diabetes in the United States is $245 billion.
