Genealogy Class for Kids
Pickett County Archives and Library will be hosting Genealogy classes for kids in grades 6-8. This class will introduce students to techniques for researching family history using databases, the Internet, local print holdings and microfilm along with family tree forms.
Pickett County Archivist, Hazel Rauch will be conducting the classes on each Thursday in June from 10-12. If you would like to attend contact the library at 864-6281 to sign up. Attendance is limited, so sign up today.

Cordell Hull Junior Ranger Program!
If you’re between the ages of ten and fourteen and looking to get out more this summer then come and join us at Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park in Byrdstown! Beginning Monday, June 7 we will be exploring a multitude of historical and nature-related topics. Programs meet from 2:00-3:30 PM Saturdays and Mondays throughout June and July. Each session will introduce a new topic such as “Old-fashioned Games,” “Mammals,” “Trees,” and “Cumberland Tennessee in the 1800s.”
