Decorating for the Luau

Decorating for the Luau has begun!! The 7th and 8th graders have worked hard today and have a good start on the decorating for Friday night's Luau, which will be from 6-10pm in the K8 cafeteria.

Yearbooks are Here

Yearbooks will be on sale beginning tomorrow morning, Wednesday, April 28th, at 7:30. There was no yearbook pre-orders and are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. The yearbooks this year contain 84 pages, and are $35.00 each.

Family and Friends Picture Day - Tomorrow

On April 26th we will be having a Family and Friends Picture day. This day is to allow students to get their picture taken with other students, whether it be a family member or just a group of friends. Remember these could make great Mothers Day gifts for moms, grandmas, aunts, and all of the above!

There will be a $5.00 charge on the day of the pictures for every person in the picture. When the lab prints the picture they will automatically print the number of people in the picture and each person will receive a 5 x 7 print.

For example if three people wanted to be in a picture they would need a total of $15, (each person $5, even if they are in the same family), then each of the three people would receive a 5x7 print of that picture. Or, if you send $10 to school with your child they can be in two pictures and will be receiving 2 - 5x7's to bring home of them and their friends.

Tom Thumb Wedding

The Tom Thumb Wedding is Thursday, April 28th at 7pm. I had previously posted it with the wrong date.

Upcoming Activites

It's hard to believe but Spring Break is almost over. As we head back for the final five weeks of the 2010-11 school year there will be many different things going on at PC K-8. As a reminder here are some of the things that will be taking place this week...

Pre-K Applications for the 2011-12 school year will begin at 8:00am,
Monday, April 25th, at the Central Office.

Family and Friends Picture Day - April 26th

and should be on Sale April 28th.
The price of the yearbooks this year is $35.

Jr High Softball Game

What a great day for a softball game! The Jr. High girls played the Hermitage Springs Wildcats. Pickett County Won 14 to 1. Great Job, Girls!

3rd Grade Trip Date Changed

The 3rd Grade trip will be Thursday, May 19th, to the Science Museum. I had previously posted that it would be the 11th, but it has been changed. Sorry for any confusion!

8th Grade T-Shirt Orders

8th Grade T-Shirts Orders are due no later than Friday, April 15th! You may turn those in to me at any time this week. I hope to have the shirts back before you go on your trip to Gatlinburg.

8^th Grade T-Shirts and Hoodies

All T-Shirts and Hoodies will be black with yellow and white writing.

The front logo will say “Pickett County” with an “‘11” in the paw print.

The back will say “Pickett County 8^th Graders 2011 Two Thousand Eleven” with an image of a Bobcat in the background.

Day 2 of TCAP

Day 2 of TCAP is now behind us. Today we completed the Mathematics section of the TCAP, both Parts 1 & 2. Tomorrow will be Science and Thursday we will be doing Social Studies. Friday will be a makeup day for anyone who missed a test. Everyone keep working hard!
