Jr. Pro Games Canceled Tonight

Due to malfunctions in the gym tonight's scheduled Jr. Pro games are canceled and will not be made up. Sorry for any inconveniences that this may cause.

Gymnastics, a Movie, and a Bee Keeper!!

There have been lots of interesting things going on this week here at Pickett Co K8.

Over the last several weeks students in Mr. Walker and Mrs. Danielle's classes have been preparing gymnastics routines in small groups and presented them to their teachers and class mates. Each of the group's routines had to contain several aspects of gymnastics within the performance. I was very impressed with the ideas during the short time I was in the gym. Great Job All!

Also 5th grade went to the Methodist Church where they were rewarded with a movie and lunch for their work in the 4-H Canned Food Drive.

And last but definitely not least, 1st Grade was treated by a visit from a Bee Keeper. Mr. Jim Crockett joined the 1st Grade today and explained bee keeping, honey making, and answered many questions. He brought with him honeycombs that he uses in his hives, as well as, his bee keeper suit, and he brought homemade honey for each of the student's to taste!
It is easy to say that a great time was had by all!!

Congratulations to the cheerleaders who competed in Myrtle Beach, SC, at the Canam Cheerleading Nationals. The girls returned to school with a second place trophy as a team, and also with a 1st and 3rd placing in the stunt groups. Also I would like to mention that the fans from Pickett County were included in the final three in the Craziest Fans contest, which included all the spectators at the event. Great Job Parents!! Updates from Myrtle Beach

Today cheerleaders from PC K-8 competed in stunt competitions at Nationals in Myrtle Beach. I am proud to report that one group is returning with 1st Place awards, and another group is returning with 3rd Place awards!!! Great Job Girls!! We here at home are very proud of you, and keep up the hard work!

Another Good Day

This morning we were greeted by another unusual visitor in the back parking lot. At first we were worried that it couldn't fly, but with the right encouragement it flew away. Thanks Mrs. Angie for helping me with the pictures.
