Kindergarten Visits

Over the past two days next year's Kindergarteners have been able to visit to see what school is like. While here they studied the letter Ff, learned about the life cycle of a frog, made frog cookies, read frog stories, made their very own frogs out of construction paper, ate lunch in the cafeteria, and last but not least got to go to recess!! A great time was had by all, and the Kindergarten teachers are looking forward to getting the 2011-12 school year started with their new students in August!!

Bible Schools

The Wolf River Baptist Church will have Bible school beginning Sunday, June 19th, and runs through Thursday, June 23rd, from 6-8:30pm.

Also the First Christian Church will be having Bible School June 6th - 10th, from 6-8:15pm, ages 3 years to 8th Grade.

Medication Pick-Up

Any student with "routine" or "as needed" medication in the office needs to have a PARENT come by and pick it up. Please do this as soon as possible. Any medication not picked up by Friday at 9am will be disposed of.

6th Grade Egg Drop

6th Graders learned about potential and kinetic energy by making containers to keep eggs safe from falls and then dropping their containers from different heights. Here are a few pictures of them testing their containers....











Since I was unable to be out with the 6th graders I want to say thanks to KT for all the pictures. You did a great job!!

Smyrna Church VBS

The Smyrna Church VBS will be June 6-10th, from 6-8pm.

First Baptist Church VBS

I just received more information about the FBC VBS. Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church will be June 13-17th, from 6:00 to 8:30pm. On Sunday June 12th the FBC will be holding a VBS Kickoff Day at 3:00pm, which will include a bounce house, snow cones, etc.

Bloomington Christian Church

The Bloomington Christian Church will be holding Bible school from June 20th-24th from 6:00 to 8:30pm. If you register before June 5th you will receive a free t-shirt!! To register contact Karri Amonett or call the church at 864-3209 and leave a message.

Bible Schools and Other Summer Activities

If there are any Bible Schools or other summer activities that you would like for me to post to the blog please email with the information.

The first scheduled Bible school I have information for is at the First Baptist Church during the week of June 13th.

GNT Vocal/Choral and Theatre Camps

The Good Neighbors' Theatre has scheduled two workshops this summer for children ages 7-17. Each camp has a cost of $50. The vocal/choral camp will be July 5th-9th, with Janice Warhurst instructing, and the theatre camp will be August 1st-5th, (ages 7-12 9am-12pm; 12-17 1pm-4pm) with Kathleen Gilpatrick instructing. Band Concert & Music Program

4-H Fun Day

Today student's who had participated in enough 4-H activities were rewarded with a Fun Day at the Methodist Church. While there they enjoyed activities such as putt-putt golfing, an egg toss, several different relay races, lunch, and made homemade ice cream.
