Annual Easter Egg Decorating Contest--April 8th

The K-8 annual egg decorating contest will be Wednesday, April 8th. Entries must be turned in between 8-9:30 A.M. to homeroom teachers. Do not turn entries into the office, they need to be kept in the correct grade level.

Here's the rules!
One entry per person
Parents are welcome to help
Three prizes per grade

In addition to the pre-k through 8th grade categories there is also one for adults. Adults would be anyone above the 8th grade! This category is not just for teachers and school employees, moms and dads and grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins. . . .can enter, so have fun and start planning and constructing your entry.

Here's what's going on this week:
Tuesday, March 31st --Parent/Teacher Conferences from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M.
Wednesday, April 1st--Spring picture orders are due
Saturday, April 4th--The band is having a car wash at B&K starting at 1:00

Sixth Grade Program

The sixth grade program scheduled for Friday has been postponed until sometime after TCAP testing. There was not have enough time to practice due to our extended spring break and they need to get ready for the testing week on April 13th. They will perform at a later date.

Spring Proofs

I gave out proofs from our spring pictures today. They looked like the one above. The prices and packages are all listed. Orders are due back on April 1st--no joke!
This year's proof has two separate poses to choose from and if you want a group there is a sticker in the upper right that tells you the price. If you want to see the group photo they are with the homeroom teachers. The 7th and 8th grade groups are in Misty Dowdy's classroom. These proofs do not have names on them so be sure to put your name and grade on the order.

Spring Break Begins Early

School will be closed on Wednesday(11), Thursday(12) and Friday(13). This will give people a chance to go to the ballgames and for those who have been sick to recover. Spring break was already scheduled for next week, so we will return to school on Monday, March 23rd.
The junior pro games scheduled for tonight, Tuesday March 10th will be played. The other games this week will be re-scheduled.

Pre-K Fun

Miss Connie's Pre-K were having a great time in the spring like weather today!

First Grade Assembly

The first grade assembly program has been canceled for Tuesday. The first grade class still has quite a few students absent due to sickness. The date for the program will not be set until we return from spring break.

Time Change

Don't forget the time change this week end. Move your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night. Don't forget that it is a good time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors, also.

Sneak Peek

Here's a little sneak peek at the first graders practicing "their moves" for the assembly program on Tuesday, March 10th. They have been hit with illness this week and last week causing them to have to re-schedule the show. But they all know the show must go on--so they spent time today practicing in the gym! They will be starting the show at 1:30 P.M.
