Tax Free Weekend

Don't forget this Friday, Saturday and Sunday-- August 1-3 is tax free weekend in Tennessee. You can buy school supplies, clothes and some electronic devices without paying sales tax.
Today, I found some 70 count wide-ruled spiral notebooks at Wal-mart for 5 cents each! They seemed to be well stocked just waiting for the weekend crowds.

Thursday's Summer Reading Program @ the Library

This Thursday, July 24th the program is called Mad Science. It should be loads of fun and best of all it's free. Be there at 10:30. Everyone who is reading or listening to books should be sure and fill out your tickets to enter for the prize drawing at the end of the reading program.

Next week Safari Greg returns to the summer reading program at the library. He is big hit with all the kids (and adults). His show will start at 10:30, July 17th. The summer reading program began today with a great attendance. Everyone enjoyed a movie and a craft and as they left each child picked a prize and had a snack. There will be prizes each week and for every book a child reads or listens to he/she puts a ticket in the prize box and at the end of the program there will be drawings for $50.00 gift cards and other prizes.
