Retirement

Today was an administrative day at the K-8 and there was lots of paperwork and picking up and putting away to be done, but we took a few minutes to have lunch together in honor of the four teachers who are retiring.
Lynda Davis, William Gibson, Carolyn Mitchell and Donald Mullins are all retiring. They all received gifts and cards today and told some great stories. After lunch we were also entertained with a song by Ms. Mitchell and some of her former students who are now teachers!

It's almost Graduation

It's been a busy time for the eighth grade class. On the weekend of May 2 & 3 they took an overnight trip to Pigeon Forge where they visited Dollywood, the Dixie Stampede and Wonder Works. Then, last Friday night was the annual luau from 6-10 P.M.(I don't know if the teachers even went home that day because we stayed at school until after 4:30 because of the weather.) I just wanted to salute the junior high teachers because they spent everyday for two weeks with their students--April 27-May 8th. As I reminded the students they did this by choice and without pay to provide them with some great fun and experiences to end their 8th grade year. Their graduation will be May 28th. Good luck grads and thank your teachers for giving you the gift of their time!
Thanks to Sharon H. for helping me with the pictures!

Junior Pro Awards

Junior Pro medals will be awarded on Wednesday, May 13th at 2:00 P.M in the gym. Parents and coaches are invited to attend.

Ollie the Otter

Ollie the Otter visited our k-3rd grades this morning to remind us about seat belt safety. These little volunteers were measured to see if they need a booster seat or just a seat belt in the car. Children under four feet nine inches should be riding in a booster seat.
