Winnie the Pooh

On Patience:
“If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”

On Being Observant:
Always watch where you are going. Otherwise, you may step on a piece of the Forest that was left out by mistake.

On Spelling:
You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count.

Father's Day

Father's Day is Sunday, June 15th. In honor of all Dads, here's a little Dad humor:

Dead Sea Gull

A father was at the beach with his children when his four-year-old son Bob ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore, where a seagull lay dead in the sand.
"Daddy, what happened to him?" Bob asked. "He died and went to Heaven," the dad replied.
Bob thought a moment and then said, "Did God throw him back down?"

Poor Preacher
After the church service a little boy told the pastor, "When I grow up, I'm going to give you some money."
"Well, thank you," the pastor replied, "but why?"
"Because my daddy says you're one of the poorest preachers we've ever had."

Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope.

Great Summer Salad

Strawberry and Spinach Salad

4 cups raw spinach
1 lb fresh strawberries

Dressing Ingredients:
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 vinegar
1/2 tsp dehydrated minced onion
1/4 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup oil
poppy seeds

Directions:
Salad: Wash spinach and cut off stems. Mix in sliced strawberries.

Dressing: Process in a blender the first 5 ingredients for 30 seconds. Add the oil and process another 30 seconds. Add poppy seeds and then refrigerate until ready to serve. Pour the dressing on the salad just before serving.

(This recipe came from my daughter, when she served it she did not pour the dressing over it, but left it in a bowl so we could dip out our own portion.)
